FREEDOM/FACTORY

The first quantum-secure hardware wallet.

Post-quantum signing. Air-gapped by default. Open firmware. Survives Q-Day. $179.

PQ1 is the first hardware wallet engineered to remain secure after Q-Day, the point at which large-scale quantum computers can break the elliptic-curve cryptography that protects Ethereum and other EVM chains. Built by FREEDOM/FACTORY, PQ1 signs every transaction with SPHINCS+ - the hash-based signature scheme NIST standardized as SLH-DSA (FIPS-205), in a compressed parameter set - inside a dual secure-element architecture with the seed XOR-split across two chips. Signatures settle on-chain through an ERC-4337 v0.6 smart account; there is no ECDSA fallback. The device is open-firmware with reproducible builds and ships for $179.

Frequently asked questions

Payments

  • Can I pay in crypto?

Yes, when you click pay with crypto, you will be redirected to the daimo.com website for payment.

  • Which Card checkout do you use?

    Stripe.

  • Do you have a referral program?

Yes - Give $10, Get $10. Once you purchase, you can get your personal discount link. Every friend who orders a PQ1™ through it saves $10 per device, and you earn $10 per device in return. Claim your rewards in the PQ1™ Vault app once you receive the device.

  • Does Freedom Factory pay the import costs?

For most destinations import duties and customs are not included in your order and are the buyer’s responsibility - with a small device without a battery, shipping from Hong Kong, we estimate those costs to be low. For a few destinations we collect customs & duties at checkout instead: if a "Customs & duties" line appears in your order summary, that amount is included in your total and nothing more is due on delivery.

Shipping

  • When will my device ship?

    Pre-sale orders ship in Q4 2026.

  • Where do you ship?

We ship worldwide, excluding US sanctioned countries.

  • Do you ship to U.S. PO boxes?

No, please input an address for delivery.

  • How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is included for every country we ship to. For a small number of destinations where carrier costs are exceptionally high, checkout shows a base shipping cost before you pay. Where available, you can also choose an optional premium shipping upgrade at checkout. Import duties and customs are not included unless checkout shows a "Customs & duties" line for your country - then they are collected with your order and nothing more is due on delivery.

  • How can I edit my billing or shipping address?

Please email us at hi@freedomfactory.io for address changes.

  • How do you store my shipping data?

Fully encrypted. Deleted once we ship the device to you.

  • What is your return policy?

    Pre-Sale orders are final.

Device

  • Does the device have any connectivity?

No, fully offline hardware signer. Once you connect your device with the USB-C cable, you are responsible for anything that you sign.

  • Is the PQ1™ waterproof?

It is water resistant. Do not fully submerge.

  • What are the dimensions of the PQ1™?

    0.802 cm x 2.352 cm x 7.6 cm

  • What is the anticipated lifespan of the device?

We designed it with long-lasting components in mind. It should last many years with good care.

  • What is the rating and details of the Secure Enclaves?

EAL6+, the highest level of security for both enclaves.

  • Does the PQ1™ come with a USB-C cable?

Yes, included to use the device with the Vault app.

Software

  • What is your stance on open source?

We've fully open sourced everything from the hardware to the software, and the Vault App. View on Github

  • Has the code been reviewed?

The ERC-4337 account abstraction contracts are under security review by Trail of Bits.

  • Is SPHINCS+C10 secure? Why a compressed variant instead of standard SLH-DSA?

SPHINCS+C10 is a compressed variant of SPHINCS+, the hash-based scheme NIST standardized as SLH-DSA in FIPS-205. Its two compression techniques - WOTS+C and FORS+C - come from peer-reviewed research co-authored by a SPHINCS+ designer, and they do not change the security assumption: forging a signature still requires breaking SHA-256. What C10 trades away is the 2^64-signature budget defined in the standard, replaced by a firmware-enforced 65,536-signature cap per key slot - decades of use for a hardware wallet. It is not FIPS-certified; it is the same mathematics, resized for on-chain verification. Full walkthrough: freedomfactory.io/learn/is-sphincs-c10-secure

  • What is open hardware?

We believe every hardware wallet that secures significant funds should be fully inspectable so you don't have to blindly trust us.

  • Why not Bitcoin?

Bitcoin currently does not support post-quantum accounts. There is an effort by StarkWare, but that current takes a GPU cluster per transactions and is not feasable for everyday consumers.

  • How can I recover my funds if the PQ1™ is lost?

In onboarding, your PQ1™ will generate a seed phrase for you to backup on a piece of paper.
